Another Campus Shooting!

On the campus of Northern Illinois University, a graduate of the school, by the name of Steve Kazmierczak opened fire, killing five students. Kazmierczak had four guns on him, two of which he bought a few days before the shooting occurred. One gun was a 12-gauge shotgun and the other was a 9-millimeter Glock pistol, the other guns were a 9-millimeter and a .38-caliber. It was reported that he entered the school with the guns in a guitar case and the ammunition under his coat. Kazmierczak then entered a lecture hall from the side door and immediately started shooting the guns off. The police showed up in the matter of two minutes and Kazmierczak already killed himself along with five students. The students names were Daniel Parmenter, 20, Catalina Garcia, 20; Ryanne Mace, 19; Julianna Gehant, 32. The people who knew Steve said that this was completely out of character for him and could not imagine what the reasoning behind him doing something like this was. While enrolled in the school he was on the deans list and was liked by the faculty and the students. Because there was no note left behind there is no indication of why in fact Kazmierczak committed this horrible act. As a college student this opens my eyes to the fact that anything can happen no matter how safe a place can make you feel.

“It started and ended within a matter of seconds,”
